SLEEP TECHNICIANS: Preferred candidates will be Respiratory Therapists or Registered Polysomnographers and have 1-2 years of experience working in a sleep lab. Responsibilities for sleep technicians include, but are not limited to: patient set-up, monitoring and scoring sleep activity for diagnostic evaluation, therapeutic intervention, patient education, troubleshooting technical issues, and MSLT/MWTs. Responsible for implementation of all policies and procedures for the sleep lab. Participates in department and inter department communications/in-services. Excellent computer and interpersonal skills are essential. Candidates must be team players.

Ideal applicants will be registered or registry eligible Polysomnographers, Registered, Certified or eligible Respiratory Therapists or have experience in nursing (LPN), Electroneurodiagnostics, or emergency medicine. Current CPR required.

Do you have a strong interest in working in the field of sleep medicine but lack the formal training ?

For qualified candidates, GLSD offers a comprehensive training program in polysomnography. Work while developing the skills needed to work in one of the fastest growing areas of health care.

Candidates for our training program will have obtained a high school diploma or equivalent, performed direct patient care for a period of at least 12 months, have knowledge of medical terminology. Some college courses in a health related field is preferred. CPR, excellent computer and interpersonal skills are essential. Candidates must be team players. Individuals accepted for our training program will be required to sign a commitment contract.
